It is important for us to ensure the health and safety of our patients, team, and community. For this reason, our offices go beyond the standards, guidelines, and recommendations from the American Dental Association and Michigan Dental Association. Our dentists in Ann Arbor, and Plymouth are also ready to answer any questions you may have.
What We’re Doing to Keep You Safe
In each dental office, we’ve installed two hospital/airline grade HEPA filter air purification units. These remove 99.97% of all airborne pathogens, including the COVID-19 virus. They purify 1,200 cubic feet of the air per minute, thus producing and maintaining a safer quality of air for our patients and staff to breathe throughout the day.
We will also be using ultraviolet light cabinets to provide extra sterilization for various items used in the office such as keyboards, pens, files, cellphones, and dental equipment. This is in addition to our normal cleaning and sterilization procedures.
We will check the temperature of each patient and staff member as they arrive at our offices. Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 degrees or above will be rescheduled at least 14 days later.
We will ask a short series of questions when we confirm your appointment and once again when you arrive.
These question include:
- Have you experienced any flu-like symptoms within the last 3 days?
- Have you been in contact with anyone experiencing symptoms or who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days?
- Have you traveled by plane internationally or domestically in the last 14 days?
If you answer “yes” to any of the above questions, we will reschedule your appointment for a later date.
Dental offices have long worked with universal precautions against viral and bacterial pathogens, so we are accustomed to these procedures. We are taking these additional steps since COVID-19 is a new virus strain, but still a virus similar to other flu and cold viruses.
